Heading constraint algorithm for foot-mounted PNS using low-cost IMU

چکیده
Foot-mounted pedestrian navigation system (PNS) is a common solution to using micro-electro mechanical (MEMS) inertial sensors. The inherent problems of (INS) by the traditional algorithm, such as accumulated errors and lack observation heading altitude information, have become obstacles application development PNS. In this paper, we introduce heuristic constraint method. First all, according movement characteristics human gait, use generalized likelihood ratio test (GLRT) detector time threshold classify so that can effectively identify stationary state foot. addition, based on zero velocity update (ZUPT) angular rate (ZARU), cumulative error measurement unit (IMU) limited corrected, then estimation used constrain correct pedestrian. After simulation experiments with low-cost IMU, method proved reduce localization end-point less than 1% total distance, it has great value in application.

A Foot-Mounted Inertial Measurement Unit (IMU) Positioning Algorithm Based on Magnetic Constraint
With the development of related applications, indoor positioning techniques have been more and more widely developed. Based on Wi-Fi, Bluetooth low energy (BLE) and geomagnetism, indoor positioning techniques often rely on the physical location of fingerprint information. The focus and difficulty of establishing the fingerprint database are in obtaining a relatively accurate physical location w...
متن کاملINS algorithm using quaternion model for low cost IMU
This paper presents a generic inertial navigation system (INS) error propagation model that does not rely on small misalignment angles assumption. The modelling uses quaternions in the computer frame approach. Based on this model, an INS algorithm is developed for low cost inertial measurement unit (IMU) to solve the initial attitudes uncertainty using in-motion alignment. The distribution appr...
متن کاملAssessment of Foot Kinematics During Steady State Running Using a Foot-Mounted IMU
The continuous sensing of kinematics provides an opportunity to monitor changes in sporting technique or to aid in injury rehabilitation. Inertial sensors are now small enough to integrate into footwear providing a potential platform for continuous monitoring that does not require additional components to be worn by the athlete. We investigate the suitability of using foot mounted inertial sens...
متن کاملPDR with a Foot-Mounted IMU and Ramp Detection
The localization of persons in indoor environments is nowadays an open problem. There are partial solutions based on the deployment of a network of sensors (Local Positioning Systems or LPS). Other solutions only require the installation of an inertial sensor on the person's body (Pedestrian Dead-Reckoning or PDR). PDR solutions integrate the signals coming from an Inertial Measurement Unit (IM...
متن کاملIntegrating Low Cost IMU with Building Heading In Indoor Pedestrian Navigation
This paper proposes an integration of ‘building heading’ information with ZUPT in a Kalman filter, using a shoe mounted IMU approach. This is done to reduce heading drift error, which remains a major problem in a standalone shoe mounted pedestrian navigation system. The standalone system used in this paper consists of only single low cost MEMS IMU that contains 3-axis accelerometers and gyros. ...
